As many people already know, we are currently in need of an artist to draw for the series. The ideal candidate(s) will be able to fully commit to the specifications laid out in the sections below. They will also be able to provide a fluid, visual translation of the script and character descriptions. We are looking for someone who can accomplish a Steampunk/neo-wild west style of art.

If accepted for the position, you will be expected to send in updates at least twice a month. You will also be asked to send in a brief bio for the website.

If you are interested in filling an artist position, please read the position descriptions below and submit the requested information as appropriate to darkofdaylight@gmail.com. Please feel free to submit for multiple positions; we prefer to have as few collaborators as possible. You will be contacted within 1-3 days.

Please be aware that, for the time being, there will be no payment for these positions. Should profit be made from publishing or high donations, payment can be discussed and arranged. Once positions have been filled, and before any work begins, you will have the option of signing a Collaboration Agreement detailing any terms you may have.

Concept Artist

As the concept artist, you will be called upon to visualize the designs for characters and their costumes, weapons, creatures, landscapes, cityscapes, etc. This is a key position at this point in our progress and the artist should have great attention to detail. Certain areas, such as creatures and weapons, may often be left up to your own creative expression. For this position, please submit an example template of your character concept sheet showing (at least): 3 full body poses and 4 facial expressions. Also send along a small variety of weaponry samples as well as (1) landscape and (1) cityscape sample..

Cover Artist

Because several issues have already been completely scripted, we are now taking the time to find a cover artist. Depending on the publishing arrangements we decide on, this may also include several title pages. The artist in this position should be able to summarize the story being told in each portion of the story in a single, visual piece. To be considered, please submit at least one (1) example of a cover/title page.

Issue/Series Artist

This will be the most extensive of the positions available. This artist will be responsible for completing rough drafts of the script and, once those are approved, the final drafts. We would prefer someone who can commit to drawing the entire series. However, we will accept arrangements for single issues. The first issue of the series is approximately 60 pages. However, many panels are left to the creativity of the artist, leaving a chance for a slightly shorter length.

The artist in this position will be expected to draw, ink, and color the characters, settings, weapons, creatures, etc. as shown in the concept work. For the final drafts, there must be exceptional detail in the facial expressions and settings, as they play an extremely important role to the story.

For this position, please submit: 2-3 sample comic pages, each with at least 3-4 panels (these can be with or without dialogue); at least one (1) sample each showing your ability to draw men, women, creatures, weapons, landscapes, and cityscapes. All of these should be submitted inked and colored.

Flash Animator

As one of the promotional tools for the project, we are looking for someone skilled with the program Flash who can assist us in creating a short trailer to advertise the series. This trailer would be put on myspace, facebook, youtube, and this website.

This short trailer would be need to be approximately 3 minutes long. Either a script or brief description will be prepared to direct you on what to include in the trailer. The score will be taken care of by someone separate, so no familiarity with scoring will be necessary.

Any sample of flash animation that is 1 minute or longer will suffice to be considered for this role.
